Following the nomination of the Graduate School of EdUHK and the selection of the Education Bureau of Hong Kong, our lab member and Year 1 PhD student, Norman B. Mendoza was awarded with the Belt and Road (B&R) Scholarship*. This scholarship was established to recognize outstanding full-time students from B&R countries who have achieved excellent academic performance, exceptional leadership and communication skills, contribution to the institution/society, and interest in integrating into and contributing to the Hong Kong society.
I am thrilled and beyond grateful to have been selected as one of the recipients of the Belt and Road Scholarship from the HKSAR Government through the Education Bureau. As a Filipino student, this scholarship means a great deal to me in instrumentally funding my tuition fees. I realized that there are many who are equally qualified for this award, hence I will do my best to succeed in my doctoral studies and earn this scholarship forward. I would like to thank the Department of Curriculum and Instruction under the Faculty of Education and Human Development for accepting me as a doctoral student, the Graduate School for the nomination, and the HKSAR Government for this scholarship award. - Norman
